Screen Draw is a real-time annotation layer for your stream canvas. It includes a highlighter marker, freehand drawing, and one-click stamps for arrows, circles, squares, and X marks, all rendered live.
It works as a layer inside Meld Studio, and because it also runs as a browser source, it works in OBS Studio. On Meld Pro and Meld Max, you can share drawing access with trusted viewers so they can annotate your canvas from a browser tab.
Drawing Tools
Section titled “Drawing Tools”Screen Draw ships with three tools, all available from the toolbar in the upper-left corner of the canvas.
- Highlighter marker: semi-transparent strokes for calling attention to something without covering it up.
- Pen and calligraphy: freehand drawing for sketching plays, routes, and diagrams.
- Stamps: one-click shapes you can drop anywhere on the canvas, including arrows, circles, squares, and X marks.
Everything renders instantly, so what you draw is what your audience sees.

Ways to Use Screen Draw
Section titled “Ways to Use Screen Draw”Esports and sports breakdowns
Section titled “Esports and sports breakdowns”Circle a rotation, draw a passing lane, or mark up a replay the moment it happens. This is the same kind of live telestrator work used in broadcast sports coverage, built into your stream. It suits any game or sport where you break down plays on screen, such as VALORANT and CS2 round reviews, League of Legends map calls, or football and basketball film review.
Games with your chat
Section titled “Games with your chat”Hand a viewer the drawing link and play tic-tac-toe on screen, or run a round of Pictionary where chat guesses what a viewer is sketching. Drawing happens directly on the stream canvas, so everyone watching sees the game unfold live with no separate app and no screen sharing.
Low-stakes viewer interactions
Section titled “Low-stakes viewer interactions”Let a subscriber doodle a mustache on your camera feed, draw a hat on your head, or leave a stamp trail across the screen during a raid. It is a lightweight way to make chat feel like part of the broadcast.
Screen Draw and the OBS Draw Plugin
Section titled “Screen Draw and the OBS Draw Plugin”Screen Draw covers the same core job as the OBS Draw plugin, real-time annotation on your canvas, with a few practical differences.
| Screen Draw | OBS Draw plugin | |
|---|---|---|
| Installation | Browser source link, nothing to install | Native OBS plugin |
| Meld Studio | Added as a layer in one click | Not supported |
| OBS Studio | Browser source | Native plugin |
| Viewer collaboration | Yes, on Meld Pro and Meld Max | No |
If your current OBS Draw setup works for you, there is no need to switch. Screen Draw is the option to reach for when you want annotation without a plugin, when you use both Meld Studio and OBS, or when you want viewers to draw with you.
