TikTok

You can stream to TikTok directly from Meld Studio by adding TikTok as an output. Setting up TikTok works in two parts: you log in to connect your TikTok account, and you enter your Stream Server and Stream Key so Meld Studio can broadcast.

Logging in brings your TikTok activity into Meld Studio. Your TikTok live chat appears in the chat dock in real time, right alongside your Twitch, YouTube, and Kick chats, and your follows and gifts show up in the activity feed. Built-in widgets like Chat, Activity Feed, and Goals react to it too. The Stream Server and Stream Key are what actually send your video to TikTok.

  1. Navigate to Settings → General → Streaming Outputs. You can also open the Outputs panel in the top-right corner.
  2. Click the ╋ Add output button and select TikTok from the list of available outputs.

  3. Enter your TikTok credentials and authorize Meld Studio to connect to your account.
  4. After you authorize access, you are redirected back to Meld Studio and your TikTok handle appears in the Stream Service field, confirming the connection.

Once connected, the next time you go live on TikTok:

Do I need to enter a Stream Server and Stream Key manually?

Section titled “Do I need to enter a Stream Server and Stream Key manually?”

Yes. TikTok does not provide the Stream Server URL or Stream Key through its API, so these fields are not filled in automatically. Get them from your TikTok Live Studio settings and enter them in the output settings. This applies to any software you use to stream to TikTok.

Do I need a certain number of followers to stream to TikTok?

Section titled “Do I need a certain number of followers to stream to TikTok?”

To get a stream key for streaming software, TikTok requires your account to have at least 1,000 followers. This is a TikTok requirement, not a Meld Studio one. Your chat, follows, and gifts work as soon as you log in, regardless of your follower count.

Why is my TikTok chat not showing up right away?

Section titled “Why is my TikTok chat not showing up right away?”

After you connect, TikTok can take a few minutes to start sending your chat, and a small number of messages may not come through. Streams marked as 18+ will not connect at all. These limits come from TikTok's API.

Can I stream to TikTok and other platforms at the same time?

Section titled “Can I stream to TikTok and other platforms at the same time?”

Yes. Meld Studio supports streaming to more than one platform at once. See Multistream for details.
