Type W in chat and a snake spawns on screen in your platform chat color. Type A, S, or D and it turns. That is the entire onboarding for Cyber Snake, a chat-driven arena built for everyone in the room to play at once with a glitchy cyberpunk look.

It is free with Meld Studio. No watermark, no per-stream cap, and no separate accounts for viewers.

How the arena works

Snakes are colored by the platform their player is chatting from, so a Twitch viewer, a YouTube viewer, and a Kick viewer all see distinct trails crossing the same grid. Cyan neon cores spawn around the arena and grant +100 points when eaten, growing the snake longer. Pink bomb diamonds pulse on screen as hazards: hit one and the snake explodes. Hitting another snake is the same outcome.

The grid wraps at the edges. A snake leaving the right side of the screen warps to the left, which keeps the action centered and prevents corner camping. A live top-5 leaderboard updates in the corner as scores change, so the players in the lead are visible at all times and the competition is legible to anyone watching.

Respawning is instant. A dead viewer types W again and they are back in the arena at start length, which keeps the screen busy even after big collision events. The more crowded chat gets, the more crowded the grid gets, and the harder it is to survive without smart steering.

Chat from Twitch, YouTube Live, and Kick all feeds the same arena. Multistream audiences play together rather than competing in three separate rooms.

Who this is for

Variety streamers, gaming streamers running long sessions, and anyone hosting a subathon, milestone event, or community game night where a single shared activity beats a passive overlay. The cyberpunk styling reads well against dark gameplay backgrounds and busy stream layouts, and the leaderboard gives regulars something to chase across multiple streams.

It also fits as a built-in lobby game for the start of a stream. Viewers arriving early type W to join, and the arena is already populated by the time you are ready to switch to your main scene.

Customizing with Meld Spark

Cyber Snake ships with neon-pink-and-cyan styling, but Meld Spark, the AI overlay editor inside Meld Studio, lets you reshape the arena from plain English. A prompt like “Swap the neon palette to green and orange, slow the snakes down 20 percent, and only allow subscribers to join for the next hour” applies immediately. You can retheme the visuals to match a sub goal, change how bombs behave for a more forgiving round, stretch round length for a long event, or gate play to subs as a perk. Changes persist between sessions.

Adding it to your stream

Download Meld Studio and Cyber Snake drops into a scene with no configuration. If you already run OBS, the free Spark Plug for OBS plugin loads the same overlay as a browser source inside your existing OBS layout, with the same WASD-driven arena and the same multi-platform support.

Use cases

  • Lobbies, queues, and pre-game downtime

Waiting on matchmaking or sitting in a lobby is the easiest place for viewers to drift. Cyber Snake turns that wait into a free-for-all everyone in chat can join in seconds. A single keystroke spawns a snake, and the longer the queue runs, the more crowded and chaotic the arena gets.

  • Subathon arenas and community events

For subathon hours, milestone events, or community game nights, a multiplayer arena gives the whole audience a single thing to participate in at once. The live top-5 leaderboard creates an instant rivalry, and the cyberpunk styling fits a marathon scene that needs to look intense for hours at a time.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Cyber Snake chat game free?

Yes. Cyber Snake is included free with Meld Studio. There is no paywall, no watermark, and no cap on how many viewers can play at once. Drop it into a scene and the arena is live.

How do viewers join and play?

Anyone in chat types W, A, S, or D to spawn a snake in their platform chat color, then keeps typing the same letters to steer up, left, down, and right. Eat cyan neon cores for +100 points, avoid pink bomb diamonds and other snakes, and try to climb the live top-5 leaderboard in the corner.

Which platforms does it work on?

Cyber Snake supports Twitch, YouTube Live, and Kick. Meld signs you in once and pulls chat from every platform you stream to, so viewers from all three platforms compete together in the same arena with snakes colored by their platform.

Does this work with OBS Studio?

Yes. Spark Plug for OBS drops Cyber Snake into your existing OBS scene as a browser source, and Meld Spark lets you retheme the arena, change snake speed, gate play to subscribers, or stretch rounds for a subathon, all from a plain-English prompt in seconds.

Can I limit play to subscribers?

Yes. Meld Spark, the AI overlay editor included with Meld Studio, handles access rules from a single prompt. "Swap the neon palette to green and orange, slow the snakes down 20 percent, and only allow subscribers to join for the next hour" applies immediately.

What happens when a snake hits a bomb or another snake?

The snake explodes. Viewers can rejoin instantly by typing W in chat again, which respawns them at the start length. That quick respawn is what keeps the arena dense even after collisions, since nobody has to sit out for long.
