Recording
Studio-grade
recording, free.
Record your camera, your screen, your gameplay, or all of them composed into one shot. Capture in 4K with every audio source on its own track, then open it in your editor with the mic, the music and the room still separate.

Choose your platform:
Up to 4K
Recording follows your canvas, portrait included.
Eight audio tracks
Every source stays separate for the edit.
Record while live
A local master, captured without touching stream quality.
Every source on
its own track
A single mixed track is a decision you cannot undo. Meld records up to eight, so the mic, the game, the music and the guest each land in your timeline separately. Drop the background music, lift one quiet voice, cut the notification that fired mid-sentence.
Open it in Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve and the file expands into individual timeline tracks, ready to work.
Keep the music off the VOD
A dedicated VOD track lets you pick which sources make it into the recorded version. Play what you like live and leave it out of the upload, so the video does not come back muted or claimed a week later.
More than a
screen recorder
Anything Meld can put on your canvas is something you can record. A camera on its own, a capture card, a window, a browser, or all of them arranged into one shot with the same scenes, layouts and effects you would use live. Set the shot up once and record something that looks produced rather than captured.
YouTube videos
Camera, screen and overlays composed live, so the edit starts from something already close to finished.
Gameplay
Game capture or a capture card with your facecam already in place, recorded in one pass instead of assembled later.
Courses and classes
Switch between slides, your screen and your face without stopping the take or cutting it together afterwards.
Product demos
Zoom into the part that matters, keep a camera in the corner, and record it clean in one pass.
Podcasts
Each guest on a separate track, so one loud voice does not decide the mix for everyone.
Vertical video
Recording follows your canvas, so a portrait shot comes out ready for Shorts, TikTok and Reels without a crop.
Bring it into the call
The virtual camera mirrors your scenes into Zoom, Google Meet, Teams or Discord. Present with the same layouts, overlays and effects you would record with, then hit record if you want a copy of the session.
The format your editor wants
Four container options, so the file drops into your workflow without a conversion step first.
- MP4
- MOV
- MKV
- FLV
Free on Windows and macOS. No watermark, no time limit.

Meld is going to be a game changer. Everything you love about OBS with Adobe like effects, it's free, it will eventually have add ons. And it's faster, less resources.

With OBS, I had a scene for every single game and so many plugins. Meld? One scene captures every game without manually changing it. It worked straight from install.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Meld Studio free for recording?
Yes. Meld Studio is free on Windows and macOS with no watermark and no time limit on recordings.
Can I record just my camera, or just my screen?
Both. Meld records whatever is on your canvas, so that can be a single screen capture, a camera on its own, or a full layout with game capture, overlays and a facecam composed together.
Can I record and stream at the same time?
Yes, and it does not cost you stream quality. You can also record without ever going live, which is how most course, demo and podcast recording gets done.
Can I record in 4K?
Yes. Recording resolution follows your canvas settings, so 4K and portrait resolutions are both supported. Adjust it in Settings, General, Main Canvas.
What file formats can I record to?
MP4, MOV, MKV and FLV. Pick whichever container your editor is happiest opening.
How many audio tracks can I record?
Up to eight separate tracks, including a dedicated VOD track. Your mic, game audio, music and alerts each stay independent for post-production.
Where do recordings get saved?
To the local destination you choose in Settings, General, Recording. Make sure the folder exists and the drive has room before a long session.
