Multi Canvas gives every scene a second, portrait canvas locked to 1080 × 1920. Your landscape feed goes out through the YouTube output while the vertical feed goes out through its own output, so your Shorts audience gets a layout built for them instead of a cropped 16:9 frame.
Each canvas keeps its own layer stack, so the camera, overlays and alerts can sit where they actually belong in each shape. Switching scenes switches both at once.
Read and reply to YouTube chat from inside Meld Studio, and set your title, category and tags without opening YouTube Studio. No browser tabs, no second monitor, no extra tools.
Because you signed in rather than pasting a key, Super Chats, Super Stickers, memberships and subscriptions all flow into Meld too, and the built-in Chat, Activity Feed and Goal widgets react to them on screen automatically.
Hit Clip and Meld saves the moment that just happened, pulled from an encoder that has been running quietly in the background. Clip from the Portrait canvas and the file lands at 1080 × 1920, ready to upload as a Short without cropping or reframing anything.

Meld Spark is built into Meld Studio. Say what you want in one sentence and it writes the overlay, drops it straight into your scene, and connects it to your live YouTube events. No code, no third-party alert service, no browser source URL to paste anywhere.

Go to Settings, General, Streaming Outputs, click Add output and select YouTube.
Click Log In in the Stream Service section. YouTube opens in your browser, and once you authorize Meld Studio your channel is connected. Signing in is what enables Stream Chat, Stream Manager, and the widgets that react to Super Chats, memberships and subscriptions.
Add your camera, game or screen capture, then drop in overlays, alerts and chat widgets. Meld Spark can build custom ones for you from a sentence.
Meld Studio starts sending to YouTube and your chat appears in the chat dock. Toggle the output off to end the broadcast.

Streaming to YouTube with Meld Studio
Open Meld Studio, go to Settings → General → Streaming Outputs, click Add output and select YouTube. Click Log In, authorize your YouTube account in the browser window that opens, then click Go Live. No stream key required.
No. Signing in with your YouTube account is the recommended route, and it is what enables Stream Chat, Stream Manager and the widgets that react to Super Chats, memberships and subscriptions. You can still paste a stream key from YouTube Studio if you prefer, but those features are not available with that method.
Yes. Enable Multi Canvas, then send your landscape feed through the YouTube output and your vertical 1080×1920 feed through a Custom RTMP output assigned to the Portrait canvas, using a second stream key from YouTube Studio. With Auto-start and Auto-stop enabled, YouTube starts and stops each broadcast for you.
Yes. Meld Studio is free on Windows and macOS, with no watermark and no limit on how long or how often you stream.
Meld Studio configures the output for you when you sign in, so most creators never need to change anything. If you want to tune it yourself, see the stream settings documentation. The Portrait canvas used for Shorts is fixed at 1080×1920.
