Multistream

Meld Studio allows you to stream to multiple platforms simultaneously, including Twitch, YouTube, Kick, TikTok, Facebook, or any other platform that supports RTMP and RTMPS.

  • Reach wider audiences across different platforms
  • Maximize content value by broadcasting once to multiple destinations
  • Flexible control with independent start/stop for each platform
  • Platform-specific settings for optimal quality on each service
  • Efficient resource usage with single encoding instance

To start multistreaming in Meld Studio:

  1. Navigate to Settings → General → Stream settings
  2. Click the Add output button to add your first stream destination
  3. Configure the stream settings for your chosen platform
  4. Repeat steps 2-3 for each additional platform you want to stream to

Your outputs are listed in the Stream settings section in Settings and in the Outputs panel in the viewport.

The Outputs panel displays all your configured stream destinations. You can:

  • Enable/disable individual outputs using the toggle switches
  • Start streaming to all platforms with a single "Go Live" click
  • Add platforms mid-stream by enabling new outputs while live
  • Stop individual streams without affecting others

For example, you can begin streaming on Twitch and later start streaming on YouTube, or end a stream on one output while continuing to stay live on others.

Each platform has specific requirements and limitations:

  • Not all platforms support every resolution
  • YouTube supports up to 4K streaming
  • Some platforms may have viewer-side limitations
  • Each platform has recommended bitrate ranges
  • Total upload bandwidth needed = sum of all active outputs
  • Consider your internet upload speed when multistreaming
  • Some platforms require OAuth authentication (Twitch, YouTube)
  • Others use stream keys (Kick, Custom RTMP)
  • Keep stream keys secure and rotate them regularly

When multistreaming, consider:

  1. Internet Bandwidth: Ensure sufficient upload speed for all streams combined
  2. CPU Usage: Multiple encoders may increase CPU load
  3. Hardware Encoding: Enable hardware encoding to reduce CPU usage
  4. Bitrate Distribution: Balance quality across platforms based on your bandwidth

Combine multistreaming with Multi Canvas to:

  • Stream horizontal content to Twitch and YouTube
  • Simultaneously stream vertical content to TikTok or YouTube Shorts
  • Assign different canvases to different outputs
  1. Test Your Bandwidth: Ensure your internet connection can handle multiple streams
  2. Monitor Performance: Keep an eye on encoding performance and dropped frames
  3. Platform Guidelines: Ensure you comply with each platform's terms of service
  4. Chat Management: Consider using multi-chat integration to manage messages
  5. Backup Plan: Have a priority platform in case you need to reduce outputs

Is it possible to broadcast to multiple platforms at once?

Section titled “Is it possible to broadcast to multiple platforms at once?”

Yes, Meld Studio supports multistreaming. Add multiple outputs in the Stream settings to go live on platforms like Twitch, YouTube, and Facebook at the same time.

Can I add more than one output for the same platform?

Section titled “Can I add more than one output for the same platform?”

Yes. You can add multiple Twitch outputs, YouTube outputs, etc. by repeating the setup process. This is useful for streaming to different channels or accounts.

How many platforms can I stream to simultaneously?

Section titled “How many platforms can I stream to simultaneously?”

There's no hard limit in Meld Studio, but practical limits depend on your internet upload speed and computer performance.
