Meld Studio is available for Windows and macOS.

  1. Download Meld Studio.
  2. Locate and run the MeldStudio.appinstaller file.
  3. Click Install.
  4. Launch Meld Studio.

  2. Drag Meld Studio into the Applications folder.
  3. Close the window and press ⏏️ in Finder to dismount the image.
  4. Launch Meld Studio.

Meld Studio will auto-update. Easily check for updates anytime to ensure you're running the latest version:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Updates.
  2. Click the Check for Updates button.

If an update is available, download it and restart Meld Studio.

Solutions to common installation issues on Windows.

If you're having trouble installing Meld Studio on Windows, it may be due to an outdated AppInstaller or a potential issue with your operating system.

  • Ensure that your AppInstaller is up to date.

You can download the latest version from the Microsoft AppInstaller page.

Verify that your device is updated to the latest version by following these steps:

  1. Click the Start button.
  2. Open Settings.
  3. Navigate to Windows Update.
  4. Verify that there are no pending updates and install them if necessary.

Some antivirus software may incorrectly flag the Meld Studio installer as a virus.
This is a false positive — Meld Studio is safe to install.

To verify the file’s safety, you can upload the installer manually to VirusTotal for scanning.
We recommend uploading the .msix installer file to check if any antivirus tools are flagging it.

Blocked by Antivirus Software (e.g., McAfee)

  • Temporarily disable real-time protection while installing (don’t forget to turn it back on after)
  • Or manually mark the file as safe/trusted within your antivirus settings

If your antivirus flags Meld Studio incorrectly:

  • Temporarily disable your antivirus software while installing Meld Studio. Re-enable the antivirus after installation is complete.

  • Whitelist Meld Studio in your antivirus settings.

If McAfee's WebAdvisor tool prevents downloading or installing Meld Studio:

  • Disable WebAdvisor temporarily during installation.
  • Alternatively, uninstall WebAdvisor if it is unnecessary for your workflow.

In the case of installation failing followed with a prompt for Microsoft.WebView2, download and install it from the Microsoft WebView2 Runtime page.

  1. Visit the Microsoft WebView2 Runtime page.
  2. Click Download.
  3. Download the Evergreen Standalone Installer x64.

  • Run the Windows System File Checker by opening Command Prompt as an administrator and entering: sfc /scannow
